Ok, folks! We are officially in the holiday spirit!
What an amazing time at our hall-iday series this year. We discovered our holiday spirit among the sweet melodies old and new, fun stories, resonating lyrics, roaring laughter and the feeling of community as we witnessed it all in intimate venues. Thanks to the amazing talent of David Myles, Royal Wood, Jimmy the Janitor and opener, Jessica Wedden; all of the hard-working hall hosting organizations and everyone who attended and helped induce the cozy, festive-fuzzies. It was a hall-iday slice!
Now, we’re gearing up for Small Halls to do the “big hall” in partnership with NAC Presents! On Dec. 20, Matt Andersen and Friends will grace the stage at Southam Hall at the National Arts Centre.
Blessed with titanic pipes and monumental spirit, Matt Andersen is without a doubt Canada’s crowned-prince of soul-infused blues-rock. Andersen lights up Southam Hall this season in support of his incendiary 2016 album “Honest Man”. Get ready to witness a stirringly soulful singer with powerful songs.
Those friends joining him will be none other than Donovan Woods, and Suzie Vinnick! Donovan Woods is an award-winning singer-songwriter with credits by Tim McGraw and more – and he recently earned a Canadian Folk Music Award for Contemporary Album of the Year! Suzie Vinnick is known as one of the greatest voices in the country, as a 10-time Maple Blues Award winner and three-time Juno nominee, Vinnick’s rich vocals and guitar make you feel like you’re the only one in the room – and she’s singing just for you.
Don’t wait to get your tickets to that show – it’s taking place only four days before Christmas and the holiday vibes are going to be through the roof.
Now let’s turn up the holiday tunes and revel in the magic that the season brings!
