Tickets going strong, awards and host community events

Tickets are still flying! The Great Lake Swimmers with Claire Hunter show at the Almonte Old Town Hall sold out this week! If you’re still into seeing the Great Lake Swimmers, there are tickets available for the show at the Tamworth Legion on Sept. 17 at 3 p.m. They’re performing there with Soloman Woodland! There are numerous other shows which are close to selling out, too, so don’t delay in getting your tickets to avoid disappointment.

Did you know that Old Man Luedecke won the prestigious Album of the Year honour at the 2017 East Coast Music Awards? He was also nominated for Solo Recording of the Year! He’s gracing the stage at the Lyndhurst Royal Canadian Legion Branch 504 on Saturday, Sept. 23 at 7:30 p.m. and also at the Tatlock Community Hall with Bill Connelly on Sunday, Sept. 24 at 3 p.m. Look at his ECMA profile here – then buy tickets to one of his Ontario Small Halls shows here. On the local events scene, the 23rd annual Valley Bluegrass Festival is gearing up for this weekend in Renfrew! A family-oriented festival in the friendly Ottawa Valley, the proceeds from this year’s event will be shared with Renfrew Victoria Hospital and Hospice Renfrew. Find out more here.
