Can you believe that the Festival starts in less than a month? We can’t wait for the first few notes to ring out in halls in Almonte, Tamworth and Chaffey’s Lock signalling the start of Ontario Small Halls season. There are still a handful of tickets available for Lindi Ortega with Madison Galloway at the Tamworth Legion and for William Prince with Outside I’m a Giant at the Almonte Old Town Hall. Seriously – when else can you see Lindi in a Legion!?! Be there for a great story to tell the grandkids one day.
Speaking of tickets, did you know there are three ways you can get tickets to our remaining shows? You can order tickets online or over the phone! Giving us a call is another great way to purchase tickets. Our phone line at 613.402.1425 is available Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Of course, our online ticketing is ready to roll 24/7. We understand that online ordering isn’t for everyone – especially when rural internet is involved – so in some communities there are also local tickets available through hall host volunteers or local businesses.
New this year on the ticketing front is a special exception for bringing young children. While there is not a children’s discount, we do offer free “Lap Tickets” for children under the age of 3-years-old. If you plan on bringing your child to the show as a Lap Ticket, please notify us so we can get you a ticket at thefestivalofsmallhalls@gmail.com. Please note that the shows aren’t geared towards children – but they are always more than welcome to accompany an adult!
Festival of Small Halls posters have started popping up in communities across Eastern Ontario and the Ottawa Valley! We’re excited for this year’s new colourful and campy design. We’re also thankful for the energetic volunteers in our host communities who give the posters a home on local bulletin boards, community placards, and even online. If you have a business or another great spot to hang one in your community, be sure to get in touch with your local hall host. Keep an eye out for online versions, too – we should be posting digital posters for most events by the end of the week! Please feel free to share the small hall love.
Excitement is building for what September brings – and we’re thrilled!
