Springing into Small Halls season

Spring seems finally here to stay – and that gets us thinking ahead to the Festival in fall! Did you see that our dates are set for Sept. 12 to 29, 2019?

We have had a few questions about when our halls and full schedule are going to be announced. Stay tuned for that in mid-June – we’ll be sure to give you plenty of notice before the big reveal!

Behind the scenes, we have been visiting halls all across Eastern Ontario and the Ottawa Valley, and have had the opportunity to see some really unique spaces and meet more friendly folks who are dedicated to their cherished community halls.

We can’t wait to share all the details with you – and let you in on which amazing talent will be gracing those rural Ontario stages this fall.

In other Small Halls news… our general manager, Kelly Symes, attended East Coast Music Week last week in Charlottetown, PEI as a delegate and representative for Ontario Festival of Small Halls. Her role there offered others the opportunity to connect with her as a key member of the music industry through unique mentorship programs, engaging conference sessions and strategic networking opportunities. In addition, she saw more than 50 amazing artists from across the Atlantic provinces during the week-long event – so much live music, so little time.

Speaking of live music, did you see the Ottawa Bluesfest lineup announced earlier this year? It looks like a banner celebration of music that stretches across many genres. There are lots of Small Halls alumni on the schedule too! We’re talking Colter Wall, Ashley MacIsaac, Kim Pollard, Kyle Ivan, Kelly Sloan, Moonfruits, Outside I’m a Giant, Brea Lawrenson, Mia Kelly, Silent Winters and more. See you there.

We are so looking forward to dusting off our Small Halls bunting soon. Be sure to sign up for our newsletter and stay connected on Facebook, Twitter or Instagram to keep in touch with all things Small Halls as spring soldiers on. Crank the tunes and enjoy the sunshine that May brings!
