You may have noticed that a few shows on our schedule are still waiting to be announced! Those in Seeley’s Bay and Lyndhurst are waiting in anticipation to find out who will be playing at their community halls in September.
We have had a few questions as to when these shows will be announced – soon! We’re so grateful that attendees are excited about these shows and are keen to know who will be performing. Keep your ear to the ground – we can’t wait to share the news with you.
In other Small Halls news – we’re continuing to add local openers to the schedule! We hope to be able to finalize all of the terrific opening musicians by the end of July. Many of the small town venues on the schedule have played a role in launching local musicians over the years, giving them a chance to be heard while playing for community events at suppers, dances and celebrations. The Festival is committed to also showcasing local talent while providing opportunities to foster the growth of local live music. Watch the schedule page for names to be added throughout the summer!
Did you know that all shows which take place on Thursday, Friday and Saturday begin at 7:30 p.m. while Sunday shows are matinees and begin at 3 p.m.?
If you haven’t yet experienced a Small Halls matinee, you should. There’s something enchanting about watching a big-name Canadian musician play and personally interact with a small crowd while the sunlight streams through the windows and an afternoon fall breeze floats through the open hall doors…
The word about our magical matinees must be getting out, because five of our Sunday shows are already sold out! The four remaining matinees include:
Sunday September 16 at 3:00PM
The Redhill Valleys with Shawn Tavenier – St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church, Kilmaurs
Sunday September 23 at 3:00PM
James Keelaghan – Tatlock Community Hall
Cassie & Maggie with the Blue Skies Community Fiddle Orchestra – Maberly Hall
Sunday September 30 at 3:00PM
Kelly Prescott – Snow Road Community Centre
