Making the most out of the hall-iday season

Our Small Halls communities really know how to revel in the festive spirit!

There are numerous holiday activities planned in the show communities during the coming weeks – and some even in conjunction with the Small Halls shows. Here’s a look at some festivities this weekend around Seeley’s Bay and Balderson, where David Myles will be performing.

The festive fun jingles into Seeley’s Bay on Nov. 30, as the village is hosting its annual tree lighting celebration before the Ontario Festival of Small Halls show at the Seeley’s Bay Community Hall! Join together just down the street for hot chocolate and cookies as the lights are switched on for the season! The tree lighting celebration begins at 6 p.m. Find more information about the tree lighting here. Be sure to get your ticket for the David Myles Ontario Festival of Small Halls show in Seeley’s Bay here.

Make a weekend of it in Seeley’s Bay and surrounding area at the annual Shop and Hop event is planned on Saturday, Dec. 1 featuring businesses surrounding Lyndhurst and Seeley’s Bay. Cross lots off of your holiday gift-giving list – the hardest part will be not keeping it for yourself! Find out more about the Shop and Hop here.

Before the Balderson Decks the Small Halls on Saturday Dec. 1, get festive down the road at the Perth Santa Claus Parade! People of all ages look forward to Perth’s Annual Santa Claus Parade of Lights! Beginning at 5 p.m., lit up floats weave through the downtown core and make the season sparkle. What a perfect pre-concert activity! See the parade, grab a bite to eat at a local restaurant, enjoy some famous cheese from Balderson Village Cheese and neighbouring stores, then head over to Balderson United Church for the show!

Speaking of Christmas cheer, did you know that one of our fall artists is headlining the Canadian Pacific Holiday Train this year? Yes, Kelly Prescott is currently touring with (CP) Holiday Train which will be stopping in rural and urban locales to entertain hundreds of thousands of people, celebrating 20 years of collecting food and raising funds for food banks across North America. Locally, it will be stopping in Merrickville, Smiths Falls and Perth today (Wednesday, Nov. 28). Reveal the magic here!
