Local tickets, Còig connections, The Once goes viral

With only two weeks until our holiday shows, we’ve had some people wondering where to snag local tickets! Well, here is a list according to town:

Almonte: Almonte Old Town Hall Municipality Office located at 14 Bridge Street.
Seeley’s Bay:  Main Street Hardware located at 139 Main Street, Seeley’s Bay.
Maxville: Home Hardware located at 15 Main Street, Maxville.
Merrickville: Mrs. McGarrigles located at 311 St. Lawrence Street, Merrickville.
Dacre: Contact Lonnie at 613-585-0639 or Betty at 613 649-2668 or other DACA board members.

Please keep in mind that there are a limited number of locally-available tickets in each location. We’re happy to continue to offer that small-town ticket connection and we thank the local volunteers and businesses for allowing our tickets to be sold with you. Of course, you can always buy tickets online here or by phone at 613.402.1425.

Have you heard Còig’s version of Peter Gabriel’s Solsbury Hill? See the newest video from their studio sessions here! Neat Festival fact: Còig,  who is performing at our Very Celtic Christmas shows in Almonte, Seeley’s Bay and Maxville, worked on the video with another artist who the Ontario Festival of Small Halls welcomed in September – Dave Gunning!  He recorded, mixed and mastered the song for them. We love those Small Halls connections!

The Once got some good news recently: They covered the Queen song You’re my best friend a few years back and put it on their second album Row upon Row. The good folk who attended our holiday shows last year in Seeley’s Bay and Almonte might remember hearing that song live! The little video they made for it made its way into the Korean top 100 charts – and it has now reached more than 2.5 million plays! Have a look here.

We have a new venue in the holiday shows schedule this time around: St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church in Maxville.  It hasn’t yet been on the small halls schedule, so we’re excited to welcome St. Andrew’s to the bill. We hear it has an amazing history within the Maxville community and we can’t wait to hear Còig add more memories there on Dec. 2. Look here for more info about that show.

Two weeks until the hall-iday shows get us into the festive spirit! See you soon!
