We wrapped up the Deck the Small Halls shows in local venues across Eastern Ontario last weekend and we’re feeling all the festive fuzzies! We welcomed four of five sold out crowds to unforgettable shows in Brockville, Delta, Manotick, Pakenham and in Dacre last weekend.
The Deck the Small Halls series was our biggest yet during the holidays with 10 shows taking place in small halls, and three additional shows still upcoming at the National Arts Centre in Ottawa. It ended up being the perfect match of artists and community – we were so pleased to celebrate the start of Christmas magic with you. These are always special shows: cozy, upbeat, with a smattering of favourite traditional carols thrown in and accented by the artists’ own Christmas songs, too.
Thanks to Royal Wood, Fortunate Ones, The Once and Coig, all of the dedicated hall hosting organizations and everyone who attended and helped induce the holiday spirit. It is certainly beginning to look a lot like Christmas!
That being said, we’re gearing up for Small Halls to do the “big hall” at the National Arts Centre! Starting tonight and tomorrow evening, Dec. 13 and 14, A Winter’s Night with Donovan Woods & The Opposition, Basia Bulat and Skydiggers promises to be an epic musical adventure with three artists who are Small Halls alumni from previous years.
But that’s not all! On Dec. 20, Matt Andersen and Friends will grace the stage, with Special Guest Appearances by Terra Lightfoot, William Prince, Joey Landreth. We can’t wait for this monumental show and witness once again the titanic pipes on this stirringly soulful singer and his powerful songs.
Don’t wait to get tickets for those shows – these are already limited in availability and considering they’re taking place only days before Christmas, the holiday vibes are going to be through the roof. Let’s revel in the magic that the season brings!
