Happy Hall-oween from Small Halls!

We’re wishing you more treats than tricks today – and all year round. We have already devoured enough bite-sized Halloween chocolates to feed all the artists in next year’s fall festival! Not really, but they are pretty tempting…

Know what else is tempting? To let you in on a secret! When Small Halls does the big hall at the National Arts Centre in Ottawa December with the legendary Matt Andersen – he’s having a few friends join him for the show!

This week, we got word that those friends will be none other than Donovan Woods and Suzie Vinnick! We’re excited to welcome them in partnership with NAC Presents on December 20 at Southam Hall.

Matt Andersen is a stirringly soulful singer with powerful songs – and is known as Canada’s crowned-prince of soul-infused blues-rock. Donovan Woods is an award-winning singer-songwriter with credits by Tim McGraw and more. Suzie Vinnick is known as one of the greatest voices in the country, as a 10-time Maple Blues Award winner and three-time Juno nominee, Vinnick’s rich vocals and guitar make you feel like you’re the only one in the room – and she’s singing just for you.

Don’t wait to get your tickets to that show – it’s taking place only four days before Christmas and the holiday vibes are going to be through the roof.

In other Small Halls news, here’s a definite treat! Listen to Royal Wood’s song, Forever and Ever:

Take four minutes out of your day, sit back, sip your tea and just enjoy this one. We guarantee it’ll put a smile on your face!

Royal Wood is performing at the Almonte Old Town Hall on Thursday, December 6 and at Winchester United Church on Friday, December 7. More information and tickets here or by calling 613-402-1425. Now that’s better than candy corn.

We’re also looking forward to getting festive (in less than a month!) at Seeley’s Bay Community Hall and Balderson United Church with David Myles, as well as in Dacre with Jimmy the Janitor at the DACA Centre and at Lombardy Agricultural Hall. It’s the first time Ontario Small Halls is bringing in a comedian so we’re ready to laugh, snort and chuckle our way into the holiday season!

But before that, be sure to have a safe and spooky evening enjoying the little ghosts and ghouls!
