Deck the Small Halls starts next week: the scoop on sell outs, dinner and what to bring

Our holiday series starts next week and we’re so excited to Deck the Small Halls with you!

Did you see that two shows are now sold out? That’s right – the Fortunate Ones performance at the Almonte Old Town Hall and The Once at St. John’s United Church in Brockville are both sold out. There are still two opportunities to witness the magic of Fortunate Ones with Sherman Downey – at Seeley’s Bay Community Hall on Nov. 30 and at a marvelous matinee at Merrickville United Church at 3 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 1. The Once is also performing one more show at the DACA Centre in Dacre on Saturday, Dec. 7. Tickets here!

Don’t forget that Small Halls does the BIG hall Dec. 13, 14 and 20! We’re at the National Arts Centre on Friday, Dec. 13 and 14 for A Winter’s Night featuring Donovan Woods and the Opposition, Skydiggers and Basia Bulat. On Friday, December 20 we’re back for Christmas with Matt Andersen and Friends with special guest appearances by Terra Lightfoot, William Prince and Joey Landreth! Tickets here.

We often get people asking what to expect when they attend a holiday show. Well, buckle up and get ready for some serious positive vibes and warm festive fuzzies! It’s like our fall festival only a whole lot cozier. Remember that artists often sell merch at these shows and there usually isn’t an ATM around for miles, so please bring cash if you think you might be interested in buying!

Lastly, host halls usually also have refreshments ready for sale at intermission and cash is king there too. From cookies to charcuterie plates, the volunteer hosts pull out all the stops to feed attendees on the fly. The host committees also raise money for their organizations through bar sales and intermission sales, so be sure to partake!

In the same vein, the folks at the Delta Old Town Hall announced last week that they’re hosting a pre-show dinner at the hall. The dinners there never disappoint and this one is a buffet with veggie options available. Click here for reservation options.

Looking forward to kicking off our holiday series in just a week! We’ll leave you with a lovely video  released a few months ago of Coig – to whet your appetite for the shows in Delta, Manotick and Pakenham!
