Carleton Place has its very own castle – or at least a jewel in Ottawa Valley’s architectural crown. The Carleton Place Town Hall at 175 Bridge St. was designed in the Richardson Romanesque style by Toronto architect George King. The Town Hall Auditorium is located on the second floor, a stunning theatrical venue with an arched pressed-tin ceiling, impressive acoustics and one of the few remaining raked stages in Canada. Sir Wilfred Laurier spoke here during the 1911 election! This venue has a capacity of 200 patrons and is home to the Mississippi Mudds Theatre group. The Town Hall Auditorium has also housed amazing live musical performances for decades and the municipality is thrilled to welcome the Festival of Small Halls on October 7th, 2023.
